Rules
- Normal Visiting Hours: Dawn to Dusk
- Motorized Vehicles in the Parking Area only, NOT inside the Park!
- Dogs allowed on leashes
- Stay on Designated Trails and Watch for Venomous Snakes and Biting Insects
- Clothing must be worn at all times, and no nudity is allowed!
- Not Allowed: Fishing, Hunting, Artifact Gathering, Firearms or Fireworks, Glass Containers, Alcoholic Beverages, Campfires, Loud Noises, Motorized Vehicles, Horses, Overnight Camping
Pack it in, pack it out, take only memories, and leave only footprints.
PLEASE WEAR BUG SPRAY/ PROTECTION ANYTIME YOU VISIT THE NATURE CENTER!
Along with mosquitoes, ants, and others you can see, there are also the dreaded CHIGGERS!!! At all our events we advise wearing long pants, closed-toed shoes, sunblock, bug spray, and carrying refillable water bottles.
This is really good advice for all patrons at any time.
Private Events
The Nature Center is open to the public 365 days a year and cannot be closed for any private event. The Pavilion and Picnic Tables are on a first come, first serve basis, and common courtesy applies. If you are interested in planning a wedding at the Nature Center, please know that due to parking and the “nature” of this venue, the maximum number of guests it would accommodate is 125. A tax-deductible donation of $200 to the Acton Nature Center for the use of the facility is required. This fee covers maintenance materials and fuel for mowers.
A DAMAGE DEPOSIT of $500 is required which will be fully refunded as long as the Nature Center is left in the order is which you find it and all trash from your event is removed from the premises. Please understand that many dedicated Volunteers have devoted countless hours to restoring the native characteristics of this land which enables everyone, including the wild creatures, to experience its’ natural beauty on a daily basis.
